It’s Heart Month Mama! How’s your heart? 👀

It was a portion of my matron of honor speech at one of my bestest friend’s wedding.
I remember a slight anxiousness as the days before the wedding grew closer. I knew I wanted to speak from the Bible scripture:
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV)
You know, you can never go wrong with this scripture especially at a wedding right?! So I knew the main scripture, but I didn’t quite know how I wanted it to flow. I wanted it to be lasting. I wanted my friends to have something that’ll never run dry or go extinct.
And then boom! It hit me, while sitting in my closet the day before the wedding. I remember looking up at the wall while I was sitting there. Now this isn’t just a wall in my closet, this wall is a designated space for keepsakes. The card I saw said it all. I received this card a few Valentines‘ ago, from one of my mentors and pastor. The card had L-O-V-E-D written across it, and on the opposite side it read the scripture:
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
1 John 4:16 NIV
Trust me! It will all may sense once you listen to the speech.
It was good, right?! But of all did you catch the charge?!
The charge? Yes, Mama the charge to speak God’s word over YOU!
We are made in God‘s image! No lies, here’s the proof.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
Genesis 1:27 NIV
You read it for yourself now let’s get 👏🏾it 👏🏾 into 👏🏾our 👏🏾 “spirit”.
I created something that I think will help, consider it a ‘keepsake card’. Keep it close or place it some where, so you can go back to it when you need it. ;)
