Stress-Free Holiday Week

Happy Thanksgiving from Me & Stank!🍁🦃🍽

Hey there Mama! We are 4 days away from Thanksgiving and I have one question! Ya'll cooking or nah?

Well we are cooking, but...

Did you notice I said we? Lol yes we. Me, My mama and my sis! Mamas, we (you and I) don't have to take on cooking alone! Do yourselves a favor and spread the love, link up with your crew, your circle, your ride or dies and come up with the menu and do it together! (We can end the blog right here, right?!)

But seriously Mama, accept the help.

So, you know I'm here to share something, because it's not beneficial to just keep it to myself!;) Yall can thank one of my best friends, April for this treat. We can just call her Mama Bear April. She cooked this meal back in high school during our home economics class and it was delicious. If you need a meal idea to stretch the kiddos over until Thanksgiving Day, keep reading!

I'm sharing my version of "Slow Cook Crockpot Lasagna!"

It's quick, easy and good! These 3 words will sell any Mama!

Here's a list of everything you'll need from the store:

  • lasagna noodles

  • one green bell pepper

  • one yellow onion

  • one 29 oz can can of tomato sauce

  • one 16 oz can of tomato paste

  • one 32 oz container of ricotta cheese

  • minced garlic

  • 2 bags of cheese of your choice (I used parmesan, italian blend & mozzarella.)

  • Seasonings used: salt, black pepper, italian, oregano, garlic & herb

  • meat to your discretion (I used ground beef and ground sausage.)

Okay Mama let's start cooking:

First, I got the crock pot set up. I turned mine on the high setting and I went ahead and set my time for 5 hours.

Next, I diced up my onion and bell pepper placed them to the side, then I browned my ground beef and sausage. I went ahead and sauteed my onion and bell pepper - added in some minced garlic and my seasonings. Then, combined the sauteed onion and bell pepper into the ground beef and sausage.

Now it's time to add the tomato sauce and tomato paste into the mixture of meat, onion and bell pepper. Stir in mixture as it cooks to ensure you get it all good and savory and mixed pretty good throughout.

Let's start layering our lasagna in the crock pot. I started with the uncooked lasagna noodles at the base, second I added the ricotta, then meat mixture, topping the meat mixture with my favorite shredded cheese. I repeat this until I reach the top of the crock pot, then on the final layer I top it off with shredded cheese.

Finally, put the top on and let it cook!

I allowed mine to cook for about 4.5 hours. The time is up to your discretion or how soft you'd prefer your lasagna noodles to be. I'd recommend starting early, so the kiddos can enjoy for lunch or dinner. 😉

ENJOY! 😋

Let me know if you try this out, especially during this holiday season! 🎁

💡Mama Tip: Have a stress-free holiday!

With Pace & Grace,

Whit
